Consider a Winter Wonderland Wedding
When Brittni told me about her winter wedding at Historic 1625, I was pleasantly surprised! Contrary to popular belief, the wedding season does not end in September! Couples are embracing the changing seasons and planning their weddings all year round. When my clients told me that they were interested in doing a “winter wonderland wedding”, I was immediately intrigued! When planning a winter wedding, you can embrace the cold and use it to style your wedding day attire. For example, go for a long-sleeved gown instead of a strapless one. Wear a faux fur jacket and crown instead of a veil. The possibilities are endless! For this winter wonderland wedding in December, we were able to embrace the holiday decor and tie it into their wedding details!
We go way back
I went to junior high with Brittni! We hadn’t seen each other since then until I ran into her at an event I was shooting in 2018. I gave her my card, and about a year later she reached out because she was engaged! I’ve enjoyed spending the past year with this couple as we prepared for their ‘Winter Wonderland’ themed nuptials.
I met Malcom for the first time at our engagement session in June 2019. The two have amazing energy and were super fun to be around. Their wedding day was my first Winter wedding and I was honored to be a part of it. They both had a great amount of support from long-time friends and family on their big day which filled the day with fun and nostalgia.
Wedding Day Details
The wedding day started out at the chic Hotel Murano in downtown Tacoma for wedding prep and portraits and moved over to the industrial Historic 1625 for the ceremony and reception. This was just a little over a week before Christmas, and it was pretty chilly outside. The hotel decor was filled with elegant holiday decorations, and Brittni’s thorough planning matched them! Check out their story!

Wedding Location: Tacoma, WA (Historic 1625 + Hotel Murano)

How did you two first meet?
Our story many, many years ago as the crush of a middle-school girl on her four-year-older camp counselor. Of course, Malcom paid me no mind at the time but when we reunited 13 years later it was finally my chance to turn my childhood crush into my man! After seeing each other again at my job, Malcom still played hard-to-get while showing up a few times a week to “check on some kids,” spending more and more time in my office. After deciding that I wouldn’t let him slip away again, I told him it was time for a date….and the rest is history.
How did he propose?
We got engaged on Christmas of 2017. He had my brother write “Will you marry me” in the snow and I saw it when we pulled up to my dad’s house that Christmas.
