These Volunteer Park engagement portraits with Ellen & Cameron are filled with light.
I have to admit, I think when I met Ellen, the first words out of my mouth were “I love your hair!”. But after getting to know her and Cameron a bit more, I can say they are as cool as they look. Both Ellen and Cameron are graduates of Georgia Tech. In fact, the very day they moved into their dorms, was the first time they met in person.
You see, they had been chatting for a bit via social media the summer before college. So they finally agreed to meet in person. They didn’t really have a first official date. But that night, after meeting in the dorms, they kept it casual, hanging out for hours upon hours talking. Actually, Ellen told me the night they shared was one of “those nights”. The kind of night where time just flies right by and you don’t even realize the hands on the clock have stretched into the early hours of the morning.
Cameron later popped the question when they were both separately making their way back home after the Christmas holiday. Ellen was arriving at the airport, but Cameron flew in a day earlier. He was busy setting the stage to ask Ellen to marry him. Cameron put together arrangements of flowers and photos of the two of them together over the years. He even set up a tripod to record the exact moment of the proposal. When the door to their apartment opened, Ellen turned on the lights to see a meticulously planned proposal waiting for her arrival. Although she had suspected Cameron was acting suspiciously, she was absolutely stunned and said yes.

Though they still have some time to go before the big day, Ellen & Cameron have enjoyed wedding planning and watching their vision come together. Most of their bigger wedding planning tasks have been checked off the list. They are well on their way to enjoying one of the best parts of wedding planning, a tasting with their caterer. It was through their wedding planning process that Ellen & Cameron reached out to me to express interest in working together.
I could tell that Ellen and Cameron share a unique bond, and I was excited to get them in front of the camera to celebrate their moment. So, I recommended Volunteer Park for their engagement portraits, and the light that day was beyond magic. I was looking for a location with beautiful scenery, but a laid-back feel to it. Knowing that Ellen & Cameron are 100% authentic with each other, it was important to find a location that suited their love language.
They arrived at their engagement portraits at Volunteer Park, cool calm, and collected. Ellen and Cameron even brought along a bottle of bubbly to pop for their session, which is always a welcome surprise. To toast their engagement, they also purchased a set of glasses that were custom-printed with their new last name. As a couple, Ellen and Cameron are so adorable with each other. I absolutely cannot wait to see them tie the knot! To see more details of their engagement portraits at Volunteer Park, scroll through the photos below.
