Bubbly fun meets sultry moments in these LGBTQ engagement photos captured in downtown Seattle!
Downtown Seattle is such a gorgeous location for capturing engagement photos. So when Lexi approached me for info on working with her and Courtney, I was super excited. Especially when I heard the words, “we have something different in mind“! Believe it or not, I actually met Courtney & Lexi at Jadya and Christina’s wedding, remember them?! Courtney is Jadya’s cousin and she was present the night before the wedding at the rehearsal. Not wanting to take away from Jadya & Christian’s evening, I very discreetly passed along my info. The connection was made and it wasn’t long before we were carefully planning all the details!
Once I scheduled a time to chat with Courtney & Lexi, they let me in on their crazy fun idea! Though they were already engaged and planning their wedding, they wanted to use their engagement photo shoot as a way to recreate their very first date. I was more than ready to jump on board with their idea, especially when I heard all the details and specifics!
Courtney and Lexi’s very first date, ever, was on Valentine’s Day. I mean, how cute is that? However, the couple got snowed in so to speak. The snowy weather in Seattle that particular night would not allow for their original plans. So they improvised in the best way possible! They made it a fun “night in” with a hotel room and snacks from a nearby 711. Courtney & Lexi spent the night playing board games, getting to know each other, and dining on Cup Noodles. Their night was full of laughter and they had an absolute blast. To this day, they both maintain that it was one of the best weekends they’ve ever shared. Not only are they a fun-loving couple but they are so deeply in love, and they are genuinely, best friends.

The idea for Courtney & Lexi’s engagement photos in downtown Seattle was to recreate that memorable night but with a more sultry edge. I worked closely with Courtney to plan her look, and when she arrived, she did not disappoint. She did her own hair and makeup and she totally killed it! The session began in the streets of downtown Seattle before moving to their room at the Palihotel. The hotel’s location was perfect for taking in views of downtown Seattle! But what I loved most about working there were the elements that pulled in that sultry feeling we were going for. Rich textures, checkered floors, sage green walls, and sconces that created soft, romantic, lighting!
Courtney and Lexi are getting married this coming December in Tacoma. Judging by the amount of fun we had during their engagement session, I cannot wait to see what their wedding day brings!
