Ashley and Antonio are such a sweet couple. The very first time we met in person, was at their engagement sessions. I always highly encourage all of my clients to work with me on their engagement sessions before their wedding. Even, if we have to shoot it the day before their wedding, which yes, I’ve done! It’s such a great opportunity for me to get to know them on a more personal level and to build up that sense of comfort in front of the camera. For Ashley and Antonio, I got to hear all about their family, hear more about their story, and see how sweet they are towards one another.

After meeting them, I knew, when their Song River Monroe wedding day arrived, that it would be full of beautiful moments. When I arrived, Ashley was just putting the finishing touches on her wedding day look and she was positively radiant! Her braids were beautiful and it was so fun to see her interacting with the friends in her wedding party. On Antonio’s side, the mood was joyous, happy and celebratory. He spent most of the time in his getting ready suite watching his side of the wedding party tighten their ties while he wore his “Groom” t-shirt, it was too funny! But when it was go time, he put on a sleek all-black suit with a fabulous matching watch and a gold necklace inspired by King T’Challa’s black panther suit!

Song River Monroe is a relatively new wedding venue, and I love the concept behind it. They provide two getting-ready suites, a ceremony space, a reception space, AND the decor! The very front of the venue almost looks like a boutique door with a hanging chandelier perched above the baby blue framed doorway. I knew instantly that it would be a lovely spot to take Ashley and Antonio for a few wedding day portraits. For any couple thinking about planning a wedding at Song River in Monroe, I would highly recommend that we add a slot to your timeline to head to a nearby park for wedding day photos.

The Details

The theme of Ashley and Anotnio’s Song River Monroe wedding was Disney, which ties back to their proposal story! Disney is one of Ashley’s favorite places to visit. Although she told Antonio a while back, not to propose to her there, he totally didn’t listen! Long after that initial conversation, the couple had a trip planned to Disney for Antonio’s birthday. Ashley was walking along when she suddenly realized Antonio was not at her side. She turned around to find him down on one knee, in front of the castle, asking for her hand in marriage. Ashley said it was one of the most special moments of her life and she couldn’t have asked for a better proposal.

One of my absolute favorite moments during Ashley and Antonio’s wedding happened during their ceremony. Antonio was so overcome with joy at the sight of his bride that he burst into tears when receiving her at the altar. It’s moments like these that humble me with so much joy for my work as a Seattle wedding photographer.
