Kat and David’s Edgewater Hotel wedding was truly a one-of-a-kind experience.

I have to admit, I don’t use the phrase one of a kind lightly when it comes to weddings. But with Kat and David, there were countless unique elements and details on their wedding day. That also included details that showcased their love story, ones that showcased who they are and how they navigate life together.

Kat and David are humble, salt-of-the-earth people. I first figured this out during their engagement session. Which just so happened to be the day before their wedding. We attempted to schedule their engagement session prior, but with them coming in for their wedding from out of town and conflicting schedules, it proved difficult. However, they road-tripped to Seattle from Portland with their two pups in tow, and I was their very first stop! It was amazing on so many levels to get this time with them before the big day, creating a relaxed, go with the flow pre-wedding session.

Having both grown up in the Seattle area, Kat and David chose to plan an Edgewater Hotel wedding. The Edgewater Hotel is a Seattle staple that has stood the test of time. However, as a wedding venue, it has a modern-day twist.

As the name denotes, the hotel is perched right along the water. Needless to say, the views were impeccable, and the light reflecting off the water on the day of Kat & David’s wedding created a beautiful glow that added to the ambiance of their day.

Kat & David’s Edgewater Hotel Wedding Day Details

Kat spent the morning getting ready with the members of her wedding party, which included her sister. In the bridal suite, Kat opened a beautiful gift from her husband-to-be in the form of an elegant designer handbag. Before long, it was time to slip on her gown and get ready to meet her groom.

Kat’s wedding day look was classic. She wore an elegant strapless bridal gown paired with cascading waves in her hair and stunning Mach and Mach bridal shoes. She was the vision of elegance, and I couldn’t wait for her and David to share a first look.

Meanwhile, David was getting ready with his groomsmen, which included his brother. The groom’s gifts didn’t stop with his bride because he gifted his crew (stunning!) matching gold chain bracelets, which they all wore proudly. It was a beautiful moment of bonding between the groom and his most cherished friends. That is, until they all helped David get into his wedding day shoes. Yes, all of them! Fun-spirited and absolutely hysterical at the same time.

Wedding Vows Along the Seattle Waterfront

As a couple, Kat and David are so passionate and totally head over heels in love with each other. Their wedding vows were sweet and heartfelt. In those moments when they were joined in marriage, it was easy to see how much they cherish one another.

It should come as no surprise, then, that their Edgewater Hotel wedding ceremony was deeply personal, filled with belly laughs and all the happy tears. Once their beautifully elegant wedding ceremony was complete, and they were pronounced husband and wife, it was time for one heck of a party!

You see, Kat and David co-founded a cannabis company, so their wedding day offered guests a little bit more in the favor department than your average wedding. They had a special strain on the hand, rolled and ready to go for guests who enjoy a smoke. But if their guests weren’t ready for a smoke, not to worry, because they had a tattoo artist ready and waiting.

We’re not talking about henna or temporary tattoos either. Guests got to pick a design and get inked during Kat & David’s Edgewater Hotel wedding reception. To cap off the night, guests were served a late-night bite of burgers and fries while the DJ (who was featured on Love is Blind season 4) kept the dance floor lit.
