The Sanctuary at Lotte Hotel Seattle Wedding Venue
The historic Sanctuary at Lotte Hotel is a Seattle wedding venue originally constructed in the early 1900s. The unforgettable architecture features an intricate Beaux-Arts design. Key characteristics include a gallery-style setting, stained glass windows, a terra cotta dome ceiling, and woodwork original to the building’s construction. Also original to The Sanctuary Seattle is the organ wall. Whille it initially held the space for one of the city’s first congregations, it now remains as an homage to the past.
Today, The Sanctuary wedding venue is now listed among the National Register of Historic Places. It’s also a highly sought-after Seattle wedding venue. The space itself is warm and inviting, with an echo of tranquility and sleek sophistication. One where celebrations erupt with creative design and decor befitting your exceptional wedding day vision.

Harlem Renaissance at The Sanctuary Wedding Venue
The beautiful couple featured here selected The Sanctuary at Lotte Hotel for their Seattle wedding. All in all, the venue evoked the essence of their wedding day vision, which was inspired by the Harlem Renaissance. The venues’ stained woodwork and mesmerizingly beautiful atmosphere were befitting of the couple’s nod to Harlem as a mecca of black culture in the early 20th century, which was a celebration of music, theater, and the visual arts.
Decor and design details added to the ambiance of the venue. Including linens in richly colored tones of red merlot that were paired with crystal stemware. At the center of the guests’ tables were lush floral arrangements brimming with red roses and plentiful greenery.
Quiet gilded touches were the final addition to the overall design. In the middle of the reception space was a dance floor inlaid with the couple’s initials in a glittering golden hue. Finally, gold finished tabletop flatware added a brilliant finish to each place setting. The warm details among the chic setting represented the essence of a time in Harlem when jazz music filled the ballrooms and bandstands were brimming with talented musicians who shaped the era with their vibrant sound.
Though details & decor were a highly regarded aspect of this The Sanctuary at Lotte Hotel Seattle wedding, at the very root of it all was a story of black excellence. The bride and groom were surrounded by a community of family and friends who showed up in solidarity and love to honor them on the next step in their journey together.
The brides soros from Delta Sigma Theta and the grooms fraters from Alpha Phi Alpha also turned up in a big way, stepping on the dance to high-energy routines in a ceremonial expression of unity and love. The bride and groom’s love story was imbued with the friendships they value, the members of their community, and the anchor of love and laughter they found in one another.
