Kat and David’s Edgewater Hotel wedding was truly a one-of-a-kind experience.

I have to admit, I don’t use the phrase one of a kind lightly when it comes to weddings. But, with Kat and David, there were so many elegant details about their wedding day. But there were also details added to their day that showcased their love story. Details that showed off who they are and how they navigate life together.

Kat and David are both really humble, salt-of-the-earth people. In fact, I first figured this out during their engagement session. Which just so happened to be the day before their wedding. We attempted to schedule their engagement session prior, but with them coming in from out of town, it proved difficult. However, they road-tripped to Seattle from Portland with their two pups in tow, and I was their first stop! It was amazing on so many levels to get this time in with them before the big day. It was just an added bonus that we were able to go with the flow for a relaxed session.

Having both grown up in the Seattle area, Kat and David planned their wedding at the Edgewater Hotel. The Edgewater Hotel is a Seattle staple that has stood the test of time. However, as a wedding venue, it has a bit of a modern-day twist. And as the name denotes, it is perched right along the water. Needless to say, when their wedding day arrived, the views were impeccable and the light reflecting off the water created a beautiful glow that added to the ambiance of their day.

Kat spent the morning getting ready with the members of her wedding party which included her sister. In the bridal suite, Kat opened a beautiful gift from her husband-to-be in the form of an elegant designer handbag. Then it was time to put down the champagne, slip on her gown, and get ready to meet her groom. Her wedding day look was classic. Kat wore an elegant strapless bridal gown, cascading waves, and stunning Mach and Mach bridal shoes. She was the vision of elegance and I couldn’t wait for her and David to have their first look.

Meanwhile, David was getting ready with his groomsmen, which included his brother. The groom’s gifts didn’t stop with his bride because he gifted his crew (stunning!) matching gold chain bracelets which they all wore proudly! It was a total bonding moment between them all. That is until they all helped David get into his wedding day shoes. Yes, all of them! So fun-spirited, and totally hysterical at the same time.

As a couple, Kat and David are so passionate and totally head over heels in love with each other. Their wedding vows were beyond sweet and it is easy to see how much they cherish one another. So it should come as no surprise that their wedding ceremony at the Edgewater Hotel was deeply personal and filled with belly laughs & all the happy tears. Once their beautifully elegant wedding ceremony was complete, and they were pronounced husband and wife, it was time for one heck of a party!

You see Kat and David co-won a cannabis company, so their wedding day offered their guests a little bit more in the favor department than your average wedding. They had a special strain on the hand, rolled and ready to go for guests who enjoy a smoke. But, if their guests weren’t ready for a smoke, not to worry, because they had a tattoo artist ready and waiting for their guests!

We’re not talking about henna or temporary tattoos here either. Guests got to pick a design and get inked, during Kat and David’s wedding reception at the Edgewater Hotel in Seattle! To cap off the night, guests were served a late-night bite of burgers and fries while the DJ (who was featured on Love is Blind season 4) kept the dance floor lit.
