WithinSodo Seattle Wedding

Ellen and Cameron said I do at WithinSodo. This amazing wedding venue is located in the industrial district of Seattle and features fantastic views of the Seattle skyline from its rooftop. In addition to the fabulous rooftop, the venue offers an indoor space for wedding receptions. Their indoor-outdoor spaces allow any couple planning their wedding at WithinSodo to configure the venue to fit their wedding day vision.

For Ellen and Cameron, their WithinSodo wedding day goes all the way back to their chance meeting in a Facebook group! When they were getting ready to head off to college, they found one another in a Facebook group dedicated to their incoming class. They connected almost immediately through genuine conversation that felt as if they had known each other for years. Eventually, they took their connection ‘offline’ and met in person as they were moving into their freshman dorms. After their initial meeting, they were nearly inseparable, falling head over heels in love for each other from the very start. They remained by each other’s side through their college years. Once they moved out of their dorms and into the city, a proposal was not too far behind.

Over the holiday season nearly 3 years ago, Ellen and Cameron were making plans to visit their respective families out of town. As Ellen headed off to the airport, Cameron began sending a slew of texts asking her about transportation and arrivals. As you might imagine, Ellenƒ was not sure exactly what Cameron was up to. But, when finally arrived home from the holidays spent with her family, she came home to find a full proposal set up. Naturally, Ellen said yes. From there, she and Cameron began planning their wedding day at WithinSodo.

When they first reached out to me about capturing their wedding day, I connected with them immediately. I picked up on their sweet nature, and we chatted a bit about Ellen’s hair (which was pink at the time!) and their affinity for a healthy lifestyle. We quickly scheduled their engagement session so that I could work with them in front of the camera, ahead of their wedding day. Of course, once their WithinSodo wedding day arrived, they were practically old pros. Embracing each other so freely with all the smiles and laughter of an easy-going wedding day centered around their love story.

On the day of their WithinSodo wedding, there were moments of surprise and delight that accented their beautiful celebration of love. Ellen and I planned a first look between her and her father, and of course one between her and Cameron. These pockets of joyful moments accented their wedding day while keeping the focus centered on togetherness. From there, Ellen and Cameron were joined in marriage during a beautifully symbolic wedding ceremony where they recited their own vows. A fun rooftop celebration kicked off the evening festivities. But, before long, we were heading indoors when an unexpected thunderstorm brought the party inside. The sudden rainshower did absolutlley nothing to dampen the mood and the entire evening was filled with love and joy. WithinSodo Wedding

For couples planning a wedding in Seattle, who are still searching for their dream venue, I’m sharing the ins and outs of selecting WithinSodo as your venue. Having worked at this venue a number of times, I can attest with all certainty that WithinSodo is an exquisite venue that is committed to providing couples with an amazing wedding day experience. Additonally, the space itself is unique, allowing you the ease of hosting a chic wedding where your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception can all take place in the same locattion.

WithinSodo is an exclusive-use wedding venue. Meaning, you and your guests will have complete access to the venue on the day of your wedding, without any other events happening within the building. An exclusive-use venue is an absolute must. It allows you to take advantage of the different settings within the venue for your photography experience. But, it also allows you the freedom to enjoy your guests during your ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, without the worry of interruptions.

Total Capacity

WithinSodo is an upstairs/downstairs wedding venue. Which allows you to host your ceremony on the rooftop and reception in the ballroom. Both of these spaces have their own capacity, so I’ll break them down a bit more.

The total allowable capacity is 450 – 625 guests downstairs and 175 guests upstairs, however, this is prior to taking in seating configurations.

Lounge & Ballroom Space

200 seated guests can be accommodated in a ceremony-style setup, including sides and an aisle space. Up to 90 guests can be seated in a reception setup using nine 10 top round tables. 120 guests can be seated in each room using long banquet tables. Up to 300 guests can be seated for a formal ceremony. Lastly, up to 200 guests can be seated using banquet tables in both rooms.

The Gallery Space

Up to 120 guests can be seated for a ceremony style setup. Conversely, up to 100 guests can be seated at long banquet tables. Lastly, up to 80 guests can be seated at round tops

Withinsodo Wedding Cost

The total cost of planning a wedding at WithinSodo is set up as a ‘by the room’ option. Meaning, your venue contract and total final cost will depend upon your specific needs. I’ll break it down for you a bit more. Please keep in mind all room rates allow for up to 10 hours of access.

During the summer months, considered June to September; room rates range from $900 to $1500. The total cost of a full rental on Saturdays ranges from $4500-$8000. Fridays and Saturday total rentals range from $3000-$6000.

During the off-season, which is considered October to May; total rentals range from $2000-$6000. Additionally per room rates range from $500 to $1000.
