Seattle area engagement photos with Fran & Cedric.

Spoiler alert, it rains a lot in Seattle! But, when I met with Fran and Cedric for their Seattle area engagement photos the sun was out and the light was nothing less than perfect. It was a rare opportunity weather-wise, so I took full advantage. Oftentimes when I meet my couples for their engagement session, I don’t typically bring my wide lenses along. But this time, something was telling me to make it happen. Between the epic light shining through the hay fields at Discovery Park, and the sprawl of verdant greenery in the background, I knew it was the perfect opportunity to make some magic.

Fran and Cedric met while they were both working at Stanford University. Once introduced, they realized their office buildings were adjacent to each other. Call it fate, or lucky happenstance, but their meeting proved to be serendipitous. Their chance meeting turned romantic and they began to fall in love. It wasn’t long before the subject of marriage arose. The couple went on a hike one weekend and began to discuss what their future together might look like. It just so happened that Fran’s immediate future would be filled with applications to PhD programs. Meaning, that she would more than likely be moving, she just didn’t know where yet. Filled with uncertainty about where she might land, Fran and Cedric knew one thing for sure. They wanted it to be together.

Their engagement was official! As they started to plan their wedding, they reached out to me about capturing their vows. If you’ve been around my blog a time or two, you might’ve noticed that engagement photos are a huge part of the experience I provide my couples. It allows me to get to know them face-to-face before their wedding day arrives. With Fran and Cedric, we chose to meet at Discovery Park. Fran and Cedric both arrived with two versatile outfits that were perfect for their setting. Knowing that their official engagement took place on a hike, I wanted to recreate that feeling during their engagement session. We explored Discovery Park at a more relaxed pace, walking along the paths and stopping by a picturesque location along the water.
