Cecilee + John’s Pioneer Square Engagement Photos were full of laughs and tender displays of love.
Look, if you’re a couple that can enjoy a good laugh together, then nothing will stand in your way! Cecilee + John were so full of joy and laughter during their engagement session, that it was truly contagious. Cecilee told me it’s one of the things that she cherishes most in their relationship. Their ability to laugh constantly, and pour into each other as much as they do. Isn’t that beautiful? And it was plain to see with every snap of their engagement session.
Their relationship began after months of persistence on John’s end. He pursued Cecilee and eventually “wore her down” with his consistent sweet loving nature, and his natural charm. Once they finally took that step and made plans for their first date, Cecilee knew that she liked him, instantly. As for John, his admiration never wavered, and he knew that in Cecilee he had found the one.

John popped the question to Cecilee on Mother’s Day. Around this time, they originally had plans to head to Vegas. The trip was meant to be a birthday celebration for Cecilee and joining them would be Cecilee’s closest friends and family. John was planning to propose once they were all gathered in Vegas, but unfortunately, not everyone was able to travel. However, Cecilee’s family and (the eventual) members of her bridal party all got together that Mother’s Day at Cecilee + John’s house where he proposed to her in their backyard. The bride-to-be was completely taken by surprise, and her answer was a resounding YES!
Pioneer Square was the perfect location for their engagement photos. With local art galleries, coffee shops, trendy bars, plenty of foot traffic, and the secluded Waterfall Garden Park, I knew this was the location to capture Cecilee + John’s love story. With its picturesque storefronts, bustling streets, and hidden parks and alleys, using Pioneer Square for their engagement photos gave us the versatility to capture the bride and groom in their natural playful state, enjoying each other’s company. It also allowed us to get those coveted romantic photos without the eyes of onlookers.
Their love story has been a complete whirlwind, but they are looking forward to planning a wedding day with a theme of “timeless love”. I think it’s perfectly befitting of their story! Cecilee says their day will be filled with shades of dusty rose, blush pinks, grey, and champagne. Scroll through the blog below to see every moment of their engagement session!
