An intimate autumn wedding with style
This past October, I got to check out a new venue for the first time for Cydney and Mackenzie’s intimate autumn wedding. Sadie Lake Events is described as, ” a country wedding venue of your dreams”. It’s a decently sized private property in Arlington Washington with a beautiful barn-house style structure used for ceremonies and receptions. A bonus feature is that there is a beautiful view of a private lake. What I loved most about the property is that there is a separate location onsite for the groom and his party to gather and get ready. They have everything you need onsite to host an intimate wedding.
Cydney and Mackenzie are a sweet couple that I connected with earlier this year. I loved how they completed each other’s sentences on our first call! Though they grew up in the same area, they’d never met before! In my opinion, they were pretty modest when describing their wedding plans. When I arrived, I was stunned at all of their beautiful details and decorations! Cydney had the bridal suite decked out with all of her accessories and stunning dress from Mili Mae Bridal. Mackenzie also didn’t disapoint, wearing a stylish navy suit with rust accents from Men’s Warehouse.
A Sadie Lake Wedding Day Miracle
In true Pacific Northwest fashion, rain was in the forecast all week and we were nervous about having an outdoor ceremony. However, we were truly in luck! The day was sunny and dry just until it was time to go indoors for the reception! As I was driving home, the rain was so heavy and rapid that I pulled over hoping for it to slow down. The fact that the weather stayed dry with bursts of sun for their wedding was truly a miracle!

Tell us about the proposal!
“Cydney had planned a date at an apple orchard in Sedro Wooley, I decided that it would be a perfect time to pop the question. I had been trying to plan something for a few weeks and this just happened to be perfect. It was early on in the pandemic so there was almost no one else there so it was pretty private. I had my cousin secretly follow us around so that she could take pictures. I waited till my cousin was in position for pictures and I got down on one knee and asked her. she had no idea it was going to happen and was very surprised.” -Mackenzie
What are you looking forward to most on your wedding day?
“We’re looking forward to putting the rings on each other during the ceremony. Mackenzie is also looking forward to seeing me in my dress.” – Cydney
