Sweet Beginnings
After about three years, Dan and Sarah got engaged in September 2020 at the Bryant Blueberry farm, just an hour outside of Seattle. A few weeks later, Sarah contacted me excited about the engagement! She wanted to know if I was available to shoot engagement photos sometime that fall and of course, I was excited. We talked for a bit about potential dates and finally decided on October 31… That’s right, Halloween!
Halloween Morning
Because I had chatted on the phone with Sarah about the engagement session, I already knew we were going to have fun. They both wanted to get a real city vibe that was true to Seattle. So when we met up on Halloween morning ,we were prepared to have a blast. What they didn’t know it was that I called ahead to the Frolik kitchen + cocktails ( rooftop of the Motif Hotel, formerly the Red Lion) to ask if we could use the rooftop of the historic building on 5th Avenue. The manager was extremely kind and generous and more than open to letting us use the rooftop for some of the photos. I was ecstatic!
Exploring Seattle
After doing a few shots on the street under the 5th Avenue Theatre we headed over to the hotel and I revealed the surprise. They were impressed and excited! They felt like it was an experience just for them and guess what? It was! Their chemistry was beautiful and I love that they were so open to any direction and ideas that I had. Once we finished on the rooftop we decided to walk down to the iconic Pike Place Market and get a few shots before the Halloween excitement broke loose in downtown Seattle despite the current pandemic. Take a peek at their fun session!
