A fun and outdoorsy wedding at Chateau Lill Winery in Woodinville!
When Angela and John reached out to me to capture their wedding, they knew two things. First, their wedding, without a doubt, would be held at Chateau Lill in Woodinville. Second, they would be inviting around 150 members of their family, along with their closest friends to celebrate. Angela’s excitement over their upcoming wedding was all but infectious. It was clear that she and John were eagerly anticipating their best day ever. Which made me all the more excited to work with them!
Stepping into Chateau Lill for Angela and John’s wedding day was nothing short of amazing. The winery in Woodinville is tucked away, providing the feeling of a private sanctuary. All in all, the winery is stretched across 10 acres and it is ripe with lush topiaries, gardens, rolling lawns, a pond, and a small farm surrounded by fir trees. Winery wedding venues tend to be open sprawls of land, which Chateau Lill has as well, but, part of its charm is that it pairs its vineyard vibes with the feeling of an outdoorsy wedding venue in the PNW.
On the day of Angela and John’s wedding, I arrived early to capture the couple while they were still getting dressed and ready in their perspective suites. They expressed to me that they wished to have a first look prior to their ceremony and that they hoped to exchange personal vows with each other before the vows they would take in front of their guests. Chateau Lill in Woodinville has so many nooks, and corners that it was easy to find a picturesque location for the first look.

Angela descended a stone stairway as John patiently awaited a glimpse of his bride. She approached him from behind to tap him on the shoulder, and as John turned around to lay eyes on Angela in her wedding gown, a flood of happiness and the biggest smile I’ve ever seen on a groom erupted from him! Being in the presence of my couple on their wedding day and seeing how they react to one another during their first look is always such a joyful moment that gives me deeper insight into their relationship.
Once Angela and John had a moment to soak each other in, we made our way to a small wooden bridge over the pond. Here, amidst the swinging vines, Angela and John exchanged private vows in an intimate moment. With their private vows complete, it was time to join their guests for their formal wedding ceremony. Awaiting Angela and John’s arrival were their fur baby groomsmen and two absolutely adorable flower girls, who, instead of lining the aisle with flower petals for the bride, blew bubbles from a sunflower-shaped bubble blower, so cute!
The rest of Angela and John’s wedding day at Chateau Lill in Woodinville was filled with celebration. Including a quick meet and greet with the alpacas on the property, a private cocktail between the bride and groom after the ceremony, and a joyous reception celebration where everyone got on the dance floor.
Angela and John finished the night of their wedding by slicing into an amazingly delicious cheesecake! Seriously, you have to see it. Scroll through the photos below to see more of Angela and John’s wedding at Chateau Lill Winery in Woodinville.
