Smith Tower Wedding – Rooftop Vows Overlooking Seattle

Smith Tower Wedding, Smith Tower Wedding Photos, Smith Tower Wedding Venue, Seattle Wedding Photographer

A light-hearted Smith Tower wedding, overlooking the Puget Sound.

This Smith Tower wedding was a rooftop celebration overlooking the Puget Sound. Dana and Anthony planned an intimate wedding day celebration with a guest list that included their immediate family and closest friends.

I have to admit, this was my first time photographing a wedding at Smith Tower, and the views were incredible. The Seattle Great Wheel was off in the distance and larger-than-life skyscrapers were in our immediate line of view. Seattle is a city with its own brand of energy unlike any other. But seeing our beloved city from above gives it a whole new vibrancy.

Dana and Anthony planned their wedding in a way that was unique to them. It was easygoing, no muss – no fuss, and the cake was beyond belief. In fact, when they began planning their wedding day, one of the things they told me they were most looking forward to most was the cake. After seeing the incredible creations by Paper Cake Shop, I understood what all the excitement was about.

But what really stood out the most to me about Dana and Anthony’s Smith Tower wedding was their overall approach. They arrived together, Dana did her own makeup for the day, and the sole focus of their wedding day centered around togetherness. Before meeting at the altar, I set up Dana and Anthony for a first look. This allowed them a brief moment to embrace privately and enjoy each other’s presence before saying I do. In what had to be the sweetest moment ever, Anthony gently wiped away Dana’s tears during their first look. Reaffirming that they are in this together, experiencing it all side by side.

A Light-Hearted Smith Tower Wedding

The no muss no fuss vibe of their wedding day continued with their ceremony setup. In lieu of floral arrangements, Dana and Anthony opted instead to use potted plants to frame their ceremony. As a certified plant lady, this absolutely stole my heart. It was a beautiful way to accent their ceremony space, but also a no-waste way of adding an immersive feeling and layer of beauty to their wedding ceremony at Smith Tower.

Dana and Anthony’s wedding ceremony was the embodiment of the atmosphere they hoped for on their wedding day. Their wedding officiant was absolutely amazing, directing the ceremony during the fun light-hearted moments. Actually, when she wanted to remind Dana and Anthony to have fun in life, she prompted guests to put on these sparkly blue headboppers. It was a great moment that provided a new level of understanding to who Dana and Anthony are as a couple. But, don’t get me wrong, while there were plenty of fun, lighthearted moments, there were also moments overflowing with emotions and happy tears. Dana and Anthony are the kind of couple who love one another deeply, and it was every bit apparent on their wedding day.

Once they were pronounced husband and wife, I had the chance to work with them on their photography experience. We spent some time exploring the Smith Tower, capturing their wedding portraits, and taking in the views. Dana and Anthony were so present in the moment, positively glowing with that just-married light!
