These engagement photos in Seattle at Olympic Sculpture Park with Shubham & Sagarika were so much fun. One of Shubham & Sagarika’s favorite hobbies to enjoy together is hitting the trails and going for a hike. It was clear that our focus for their engagement photos in Seattle was to recreate their favorite activity but with a twist!   

We scheduled their engagement session for a date in September. Fall in Seattle is a beautiful time for an outdoor photoshoot. The air is crisp, and the sun is glowing in all the right directions. Wanting to make the most of this experience for Shubham & Sagarika I encouraged them to recreate their favorite activity. During the beginning stages of working with my couples, I take the time to get to know them on a more personal level, for this exact reason. I want their photography experience to be one of a kind, and unique to who they are. Knowing what their favorite hobbies are is something that allows me to create meaningful memories for them to look back on for a lifetime. 

Instead of meeting at a local trail, we decided instead to capture their engagement photos in Seattle at Olympic Sculpture Park. Choosing this location gave us the flexibility we needed to set the stage for their hiking experience. But, it also gave us the ability to work on a set of classic engagement photos. Creating a multifaceted photo experience, filled with a range of images that expressed Shubham & Sagarika’s love story played a big part in our choice of location.

When we met for their session, I kicked things off by capturing Shubham & Sagarika in their nonhiking attire. They were chic but relaxed in complimentary colors that embodied the earthy tones of the PNW. We walked through the al fresco art installations of Olympic Sculpture Park, stopping along the way to enjoy the sights. Shubham & Sagarika were so sweet with each other. They radiated joy and happiness. But overall, they were present in this special moment of celebrating their engagement.

From there, it was go time. The camping bags, tent, and hiking gear came out and we were ready to have a blast. The minute we shifted our approach to their engagement photos in Seattle, Shubham & Sagarika’s playful side came to life. They had a ‘potato sack race’ in their sleeping bags, enjoyed a cup of coffee inside their tent, and embraced one another freely, and openly. It was beautiful to see this effervescent side of the love they share. It was all smiles from that point on. With the sun glistening in the backdrop, I was able to make Shubham & Sagarika’s engagement photos everything we hoped for. Beautiful, and one-of-a-kind, but most importantly unique to their story.
