Angela + Johns Beachside Seattle Engagement Photos had a cool theme in the form of a cocktail picnic date, and I can’t wait to tell you the whole story behind it!
The bride and groom-to-be met during their time at the University of Portland. They were both part of the student government when they just so happened to notice each other. I think the exact term they used when I first spoke to them was “side-eyeing”! Needless to say, it wasn’t long before they met and began dating. Together they are a driven, power couple who both have amazing careers!
After dating for a while, Angela and John knew the next step in their relationship would be to get engaged. However, the pandemic had other plans in mind. They decided, instead, to wait until after the pandemic to become engaged. But, they still managed to use their time together during lockdown in a fun and productive way. They took on the hobby of cocktail-making! Isn’t that awesome? I connected with them immediately when they opened up to me about their unique hobby because two of their favorite drinks are also two of mine. French 75, and Prosecco! I knew immediately that we had to find a way to incorporate their hobby into their Seattle engagement photos.

Angela and John got engaged in January 2022 during a trip to Mexico. The proposal happened during a private dinner, which was important to them because they both knew they wanted the moment to be intimate. They wasted no time in reaching out to me and I heard from them in May of the same year. By the time I spoke with them, they already had their venue in place, and Angela’s dress had been purchased. I have to admit, I love this level of excitement & organization when planning a wedding!
For their engagement session, we decided to meet in the middle of the day at Marina State Park. I encouraged them to make it a fun cocktail-themed picnic session and they delivered! Angela had her makeup done by Classy HMUA, and she and John came ready for the cocktail picnic with Empress 1908 Indigo Gin, dried lemons, and everything they needed to make fabulous French 75s, beachside! And yes, it was just as fabulous as it sounds!
Angela and John’s wedding day will take place at Chateau Lill. The focus when planning their wedding was to use natural tones in order to create a laid-back meets intimate wedding day experience for them and their guests.
