Have you ever been to a wedding at the Center for Urban Horticulture in Seattle? It’s 16 acres of lush cultivated gardens with endless pathways, benches, and grounds for exploring. If you remember Eliza + Michael from their workplace romance story, come along and celebrate their wedding day with me, in this blog!
After working with Eliza + Michael on their engagement photoshoot, there was no doubt in my mind that their wedding day would be absolute fun. They are both humble, down-to-earth people with fun-loving spirits. Because they were so open to being a little silly and loving on each other so easily, their wedding day was an absolute blast! In fact, when we were in the planning stages of their wedding day photos, I asked if they were having a formal exit towards the end of the night. Their answer was no because they were hoping to hang around after the reception to try and convince their closest friends and family members to continue the party at a local bar on Capitol Hill. How fun is that?!

My fun-spirited bride and groom decided on having a first look prior to their ceremony. This gave us plenty of time to work on their wedding portraits and a few group photos ahead of time. So that once they were announced as husband and wife, they could get right to celebrating and having a good time. I almost always recommend that my couples have a first look. This gives you some extra private time together before mingling with your guests. It also alleviates the nerves of walking down the aisle and lets you enjoy cocktail hour with your guests!
Overall, their wedding at the Center for Urban Horticulture played into the concept of the venue. A big garden party with gorgeous botanicals on the tabletops, done in shades of dark red, creamy orange, and tons of white and greenery! Eliza + Michale’s day was full of dancing, happy tears, and the biggest smiles you will ever see! Scroll through the photos below to see every moment.
