DeMyla + Trunel’s WithinSodo wedding in Seattle was full of joy, happy tears, and the love of two best friends who became husband and wife.

Do you remember DeMyla + Trunel from their holiday engagement? Their story started with a chance meeting, one night, at Rumba Notes Lounge. DeMyla was ordering a drink when a guy standing next to her (Trunel) asked how she was doing. From there, they began a conversation that turned into a phone number exchange and a romantic love story. As Trunel’s + DeMyla’s relationship grew, he also became a pillar of unconditional love and support for her son as well. They love going on adventures together and experiencing delicious food and amazing music.

Their WithinSodo wedding in Seattle was a fun color palette of black, white, and red that fused together classic elements with a fun modern twist. There were Chuck Taylors for the bridal party and a pair of blinged-out white ones for the bride. DeMyla’s blinged-out chucks had “Mrs. Butler” printed across the laces near the toe of the shoe and their wedding date printed vertically on the back of the heel. They really found a way to plan a wedding day that reflected their own unique sense of style with fun elements at every turn.

But there was one thing that the couple wanted to keep traditional. And that was seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day, at the altar. Because they decided to forgo a first look, I worked with them instead on a “first touch”. There was a beautiful corner at their venue, filled with artwork, where I was able to place DeMyla on one side and Trunel on the other. They were able to lace their fingers together and have a private intimate moment together, without ever laying eyes on each other. Once they finally did see each other at the altar, Trunel was overcome with a flood of emotions at the sight of his gorgeous bride. Which filled their ceremony with love combined with the excitement of their family and friends.

Then, it was time to celebrate! The reception was all about the dance floor. That is until DeMyla changed into her fun reception outfit (you’ll get to see it below) and took the reigns of the DJ booth!
