Marlena and Vincent had so much fun when I met up with them for their Downtown Ballard engagement photos!
What was particularly amazing about these Downtown Ballard Engagement photos, is that my joyful bride and groom-to-be not only showed off their fun side, but they also showed off their chic side. I’m a big fan of having a wardrobe change for your engagement session. Because it’ll provide you with versatility in your photos and allow us to work with a range of backdrops!
In Marlena + Vincent’s case, they chose to start their session off in their formal wear. During that portion of their session, we moved around Downtown Ballard on Main street. Here, we explored the cobblestone streets and stopped for photos in front of some of the cute local restaurants.
We made our way from the cobblestone streets in Downtown Ballard to a local pizza joint. Wondering why we chose this location? I’ll tell you! Marlena and Vincent initially met each other for a “friendship interview” at a local dive bar where they enjoyed pizza and drinks. Needless to say, they both passed the interview, because from that point on, they have been totally inseparable! Isn’t that such a fun story?
Knowing that their first meeting happened at a laid-back “grab a slice and a drink” kind of spot, we thought it would be fun to reflect that in their engagement photos! We popped inside Big Marios where Marlena and Vincent recreated their first date, except this time, Marlena had a gorgeous engagement ring to show off!
We all stopped in for a big oversized slice of Big Marios NYC-style pizza. Marlena and Vincent even grabbed a cocktail and toasted each other. If you’ve never checked out Big Marios, I highly recommend it. This place was filled with so much charm. In addition to their amazing slices, they also had a fun collection of old Disney VHS tapes hanging out on their shelves. I absolutely adore this couple, and we had so much fun during their session, it was such an amazing way to connect with them! Scroll through the photos below to take a peek!
