Hanna + Brett’s outdoorsy Olympic Park wedding at NatureBridge was joyful, fun, and a little bit damp! But hey, would you expect anything different from an epic PNW wedding day?
My bride and groom met online. Because where else do couples meet these days? And they quickly bonded over a shared interest in traveling, exploring, and enjoying all of the great outdoors that the PNW has to offer. Before long, Brett popped the question at one of their favorite neighborhood spots! With a happy yes from Hanna, they started planning their wedding day.
When they began planning their wedding they reached out to me because they were searching for a Seattle Wedding Photographer that could capture their wedding in a vibrant, candid way that expressed their genuine emotion. I was beyond honored to work with them and from there we scheduled their engagement session! I cannot express how important it is to have an engagement session with your wedding photographer before your big day! Working with Hanna + Brett in anticipation of their wedding day allowed us to get to know each other in a way that was fun and playful. It put them at ease and made them feel comfortable in front of the camera. I also quickly learned just how adventurous they are, more on that later though!
Hanna + Brett’s main focus when planning their wedding was writing their personalized vows to each other and staying grounded and present during the entire process. They used their surroundings as inspiration for the tones of their wedding day and created an outdoorsy color palette with earth tones of blues & greens accented by a champagne hue!
Because such a big part of their wedding planning was heavily focused on writing personal vows to each other, Hanna + Brett also chose to have a private first look where they exchanged letters. When the moment for their first look arrived, it was a little drizzly out. But we used it to our advantage and Hanna + Brett each carried a clear umbrella for their first-look photos. I have to admit, their first look + letter exchange was one of my favorite moments of their day. They got to soak up some private pre-ceremony moments while enjoying their surroundings. And by that I mean, a family of ducks swam right up to the dock to say hello! Scroll through the photos in the blog below to see every moment of Hanna + Brett’s Olympic Park wedding at NatureBridge!
Knowing how much Hanna + Brett enjoy hiking and being outdoors, I offered to take them on a hike for a “day-after” session. A day after session is exactly what it sounds like! A photoshoot the day after your wedding, when all the busyness of your wedding day has subsided. We decided to go to Marymere falls trail. Which was like stepping back in time for me because I actually attended this camp in the 5th grade. Talk about a deja vu moment when I faced those cabins again! Marymere is just a five-minute drive from NatureBridge, where Hanna + Brett said I do. We spent their day after session hiking, laughing, and getting dirty and creative. It was such a blast and such a unique fun experience for all of us!
