Eliza and Michael’s love story is one of a workplace romance! At the time they met, they were both working as researchers at the Allen Institute for Brain Science. Michael kicked things off by asking Eliza out to a happy hour. But, she got busy with her work in the lab and their happy hour date never happened. Fast forward to the company holiday party. The couple finally got a chance to talk and enjoy that happy hour drink. And, after about an hour into the party, they were officially a couple! I guess the saying is true; “when you know, you know!”
When they reached out to me to book their session at the Center for Urban Horticulture, they weren’t technically engaged, yet! But, after a five-year relationship full of fun moments and love for each other, the official engagement was already being planned. The proposal eventually went down on Christmas day, Michael proposed to Eliza, in a Santa suit, while they were opening presents on the porch of her mom’s house!
After hearing their story and then working with Eliza + Michael during this session, it was easy to see the dynamic they share as a couple. They are both low-key, down-to-earth, and fun at heart!
