Anja + Patrick’s Hotel 1000 Downtown Seattle Wedding was joyful and heartfelt!

I had the opportunity to work with Anja + Patrick while I was second shooting for Lessie Blue! Lessie is a photographer based in the Tacoma area. She happens to be a good industry friend of mine! So, naturally, I jumped at the opportunity to be part of her couple’s wedding day and lead them through Downtown Seattle for their portraits. 

There are so many iconic locations in Downtown Seattle for wedding portraits! I really wanted to make sure that Anja + Patrick had the chance to experience it all! Their wedding ceremony and reception were both held at Hotel 1000, but our timeline allowed plenty of time for portraits before their ceremony. If you have the opportunity to take all your portraits before your ceremony on your wedding day, including the shots with your immediate family, I highly recommend it! It gives you time to relax and regroup before your ceremony begins.

For Anja + Patrick, their portraits included a first look and private vows exchanges on the rooftop of Hotel 1000! Anja + Patrick are so sweet and gentle with each other, so it made sense that they wanted to exchange private vows with each other, away from the eyes of their guests. 

It was a bright sunny day, and Hotel 1000 is right next to the waterfront. We only had to walk along 2nd Ave to get a beautiful view of the pier. From there, we stopped at the famous Harbor Steps. Here we captured photos of the bride & groom along with their bridal party!

Our journey through Downtown Seattle also took us to the Four Seasons. Here we stopped for photos in front of the iconic Seattle Great Wheel! The views from the rooftop of both hotels are so epic. Taking in the sights of the city from that perspective on your wedding day is such a magnificent way to celebrate!

Once our Downtown Seattle wedding portraits were wrapped up, we headed back to Hotel 1000. The couple had a bit more time to relax before the ceremony. Immediately after their ceremony, they took the opportunity to have a private toast with their maid of honor and best man. With Patrick’s brother fulfilling the role of the best man! The group stopped in the wine cellar of Hotel 1000 for their private toast. They toasted the bride and groom using champagne flutes that were passed down to them from their Grandparents It was such a beautiful and sentimental touch to their wedding day!
