Being a Seattle Wedding Photographer sometimes means shooting weddings on Whidbey Island, like Mackenzie + Cameron’s wedding, featured in the blog below!
Mac + Cam met on a blind date that was orchestrated by a mutual friend, and it wasn’t long before the couple was celebrating their engagement! You can read more about how their double proposal happened, in this blog post. Soon enough, they were planning their dream wedding day at Fireseed Catering on Whidbey Island, and they had some unique approaches to how they wanted their day to play out.
The bride and groom pride themselves on the large community of loved ones that surround them. To that end, they decided not to have a bridal party. This is because they didn’t want to create an “exclusive” feeling among those who might’ve been chosen and those who were not. Instead, they involved close members of their family in their wedding day by asking them to fulfill small roles. For example, Mac’s aunts played a big part in putting together the florals, which you’ll see in the photos below! Mac + Cam left the bigger items, such as catering, and entertainment to the professionals. Particularly because they were most looking forward to the wedding day experience of having their favorite people together in one place, celebrating, and having fun!
Would you consider romantic forest vows to be a theme? Because if so, Mac + Cam nailed it! Their color palette for the day was created in shades of teal, sage, light pink, light blue, and golden yellow. These tones played on the natural beauty of their venue. And, my personal favorite part of their wedding day? Mac + Cam were “showered” by their guests with a floral toss after they said I do. As they walked down the aisle hand in hand as husband and wife a flurry of petals rained down over them! From there, the newlyweds and their guests spent the night dancing to live music while dining on yummy cocktails, a custom-tailored dinner menu, and house-made pies! Scroll through the photos below to see all the details!
